I am not personally up on the specs for AES/EBU, you would do well to verify the published specs for the Motu equipment and your other equipment to verify they are running under the same specification. That is, I don't know if AES/EBU has undergone any updates or changes to the specs.
Call back tech support and get someone else or a supervisor. If your equipment works elsewhere and doesn't work with your Motu equipment it is only logical that the Motu piece has a problem and any reasonable tech support person should be able to follow through on that.
Personally I've not had problems with Motu tech support, but I've heard that many have.
