Postforum was started in 1996 and was, for a time, the biggest independent forum for Mac-based video professionals. Sadly, that time has passed, and I no longer have time to maintain this site, which is continually overrun by spammers. As such, all forums are in Moderation mode, and will no longer be moderated. Whatever you post is going into a black hole. I'm leaving the site up for posterity, and will prune spam as i can. It was fun while it lasted! -perry

Hello Alonzo!

Thanks for your kind words..

About the feet, yes I did make the bone and ik rigging so he can bend his feet when walking. Only that I run into a problem with Fred's rig, it's probably my fault, since his Universe heroe seems to do every possible movement!

THe thing is this.. the way his feet are rigged, the foot control depends on the heel control for some actions, like X movement and Y rotation. In the case of my character, I rotated the feet in Y direction at the beginning of the animation so he can walk to the right of your screen. For some reason, when rotating the heel control (and the foot control follows that rotation), the foot control moves forward, so much that it goes out of the foot dimensions and therefore it doesn't bend. I am pretty sure that all I just said made no sense to you at all hahaa.. you would need to see my rig, or fred's rig.

I will try again to correct this. When he walks in the Z axis, feet bend beautifully. When walking in the X axis as I tried to explain in the previous paragraph, it just can't happen, as the control for that moves forward enough, for some strange reason I still can't figure out, that I can't make the foot bend. And the whole walking cycle was made in the X axis thinking I was going to be able to fix it easily.

Other than that and some small problems in the hands, I think this rig is very nice for simple CA. Fred's hero (I can't find his animation!) as I recall, animates extremely nice.
